Frequently Asked Questions
What is a Private pilot Certificate?
A private pilot certificate allows you to fly an airplane day
or night in visual flight conditions and carry passengers.
While operating expenses may be shared with your passengers,
you may not get paid for the flight.
What are the benefits of obtaining a Private Pilot Certificate?
The most obvious benefit is the FUN! Whether you travel for business
or pleasure, you get to your destination in less time with less hassle.
The cost is reasonable, and may be tax deductible.
How much will it cost?
Your training will be tailored to you and your schedule.
The more frequently you are able to fly, the less expensive
your training will be. Your basic flight training is
designed to prepare you for a FAA Practical, Oran, and
Written Exams. The cost of books, materials, flight physical,
exam fees, and flight training will cost approximately $5600.
We do offer several payment programs to pay for your flight training.

What are the age and physical requirements for a Private Pilot Certificate?
You must be at least 16 years of age to obtain your student pilot certificate.
You will need a flight physical. We recommend you obtain one before
you begin your flight training. Avcenter, Inc. will be happy to provide
you with the name and phone number of the local doctor designated to
administer flight physicals.
How long will it take to learn to fly?
The Federal Avaition Administration (FAA) requires a minimum of
40 hours of flight training. However, the average student will
accumulate approximately 50 - 60 hours of flight time. We also
recommend you fly at least 2 to 3 times per week. At the rate
of three lessons per week, you can earn your private pilot certificate
in approximately 2 to 4 months.
When is the best time to fly?
There is no better time than the present. Given Idaho's outstanding
climate, flying is great year-round. The occasional storm is the
only condition which may require your lesson to be rescheduled.
What kind of aircraft will I be flying in?
You will be learing to fly in a four seat
Cessna 172 Skyhawk,
the world's most popular training aircraft. The Cessna 172 is
a single-engine, high wing airplane that will cruise over the
countryside at approximately 120mph.
How do I get started?

This allows you to expericence the thrill of flight, to see if this is for you.
The Discovery Flight allows you to fly the airplane hands-on.
